Artist Reception: New Landscapes, Photographs by Rob Walters

Raised in a military family, Rob Walters grew up in all corners of the United States. South Carolina, Georgia, California, New York, New Hampshire and Illinois have all been considered home. At age 8 with a Kodak bought for the trip, Rob documented his family’s move from California to Upstate New York and has continued to point a lens at his world ever since.

Using photography, video and film, Rob’s work explores the places he lives and his personal relationship to these communities.

In addition to his artistic practice, Rob has taught photography at the collegiate level for over 15 years. Currently Rob chairs the Art Department at Iowa Western Community College.

Rob lives in the Keystone neighborhood of Omaha with his wife and son.
